Silicone rubber sheets is an elastomer composed of silicone, which is a polymer containing silicon along with carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. It is widely used in industry, and there are multiple formulations for silicone rubber sheets. Silicone rubber is usually one or two part polymers. They may contain fillers to improve properties and reduce cost. Silicone rubber can withstand ozone, UV, heat and other ageing factors well, and it is a highly inert material and doesn’t react with most chemicals. Due to its inertness, it is used in many medical applications and in medical implants. Thus it is used in a lot of medical applications and in medical implants.

Silicone rubber sheet offers good resistance to extreme temperatures, which can keep its useful properties and operate normally under temperatures from -55 °C to +300 °C; at this extreme temperatures, the tensile strength, elongation, tear strength and compression set ofsilicone rubber sheetscan be far superior to conventional rubbers, it is very non-reactive and stable. With above excellent properties and ease of manufacturing and shaping itself, silicone rubber can be applied to a wide range of products, such as electronics products, food industry products, medical devices and apparels, etc.

Silicone rubber sheet has a very low tensile strength comparing with organic rubbers. In this case it’ll need care when designing products to withstand even low imposed loads. Silicone rubber is also very sensitive to fatigue from cyclic loading.
