SBR is short for Styrene-butadiene Rubber Sheets, which is the biggest general synthetic rubber varieties, and also one of the earliest rubber sheets that realize production in industrialization. SBR rubber sheets are random copolymer of styrene and butadiene. The physical mechanism performance, processing performance and application performance are all close to natural rubber; some performances such as wear resistance, heat resistance, ageing resistance and curing rate are even better than those of natural rubber sheets. SBR synthetic rubber can blend with natural rubbers and a variety of synthetic rubber and widely used in tires, rubber hose, electric wire and cable, medical instruments and various rubber products production, etc.

According to the synthesis method, styrenebutadiene rubber is usually divided into emulsion polymerization styrene butadiene rubber (hereinafter referred to as ESBR) and solution polymerization of styrene butadiene rubber (hereinafter referred to as SSBR). ESBR is free radical polymerization, which has had its heyday since industrial production. Its production technology is mature; qualiy is stable, and brand variety is complete. SSBR is by using anionic active polymerization, with features of narrow molecular weight distribution, high cis content, excellent wear-resisting performance, small rolling resistance. SSBR has solved the problems of butadiene rubber’s poor wet resistance, becomes a ideal material for tire tread. It is under the development phase of steadily rise.
